🌿Our Eco Team🌿
Our Eco team is a group of pupils who meet at different times during each term to talk about Eco friendly and environmental issues that affect our school and the future. This year we had so many requesting to be on the Eco team that it was very difficult to choose the nominated candidates. So we formed a sub committee to call upon.
It is great to see such interest!
This year we are trying to go for our 4th Green flag.To do this we have to study three of the topics. One major and two minor topics. Our major topic is Biodiversity and our two minor topics are water and waste.
We will do some surveys on how we use water at home.
We will look at our school water meter and with the help of Noel Cox, we will read the water meter each morning for a week and record our results.
We invited NI water to visit and give a talk on water conservation and water pollution.
We all received a free water bottle.
NI Water are supporting Water night encouraging all people to turn off non essential taps from 5 to 10pm on Thursday 24th October. This organized by Waterwise. They are calling on schools to take part and wear something blue to show their support.
The Eco team will keep the school informed about our findings at assembly, taking photos, school newsletter and website.
