PTFA News - January 2016

20th Jan 2016

Mullymesker PTFA News January 2016 (Contact Us: mullymeskerptfa@gmail.com)

Our PTFA have been busy over the past month, organising Christmas Cards, helping out with teas after the Christmas Shows and now organising our Spring Fete.  Below is a list of what we have been up to and what is ongoing.  I have included some requests for help.

  • The Christmas Cards created by the school children were wonderful, we have some great artists in our school. Thank you to the children for drawing such beautiful pictures and to each family who bought cards and helped the PTFA raise some money.
  • The Mullymesker PTFA is on the Community Notice Board at Asda. Please collect tokens for us at the checkout.  Thank you.
  • The PTFA is holding a fundraising Spring Fete on Sunday 20th March (2-5pm). We hope you and your family can come along to support us and have some fun.The PTFA need donations for our stalls at the fete (good condition please). If you can donate any of the following items please leave them at the school labelled for the attention of the PTFA or with one of the PTFA committee members.
  1. Unwanted gifts
  2. Toys or books
  3. Board games
  4. Items of the school uniform
  5. Donations of plants which we could sell on

Thank you to those who have already made donations or who have contributed prizes for our raffle. Your donations are greatly appreciated. New donations would be gratefully received.

If any family has a large Gazebo or display tent which could be used at the Spring Fete could you please let a member of the PTFA committee know.

Could parents who feel they could help out in any way at the Spring Fete please leave their name and contact details with Mrs Ingram or email the PTFA at our address above.

  • The PTFA have cleared the lost and found store at the school. We have returned any labelled items to their owners but there remain many unclaimed items.  Photos of these coats will be available on the school website once it goes live.  If your children have lost coats etc. while at school please speak to a member of the PTFA committee.  Any unclaimed items will be sold at the school fete to raise money for the school.
  • The PTFA is keen to have new members. Any parents interested in joining the group or simply helping out at school events (ie making tea after Communion/Confirmation) please give your name to Mrs Ingram, a member of the PFTA or email us at(mullymeskerptfa@gmail.com)
  • Our PTFA penny mile collection is continuing this year (2015-2016) with a container in each room. Please send any spare pennies to school with your child for the collection in their room.  Last year the penny mile collection raised £444.50 and €63.59.  A huge amount.  Thank you for all your donations of pennies.
  • Could parents and friends please consider registering with and using The Giving Machine (www.thegivingmachine.co.uk) for all online shopping? By registering with ‘The Giving Machine’ and selecting our school as the charity you wish to support (listed as: St Marys Primary School, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh), a percentage of what you spend online goes towards Mullymesker PTFA. Most of the big online shops are registered on this site.
  • During the 2014-2015 school year Mullymesker PTFA funded activities as follows:
  1. £1774.96 on books for the Accelerated Reading program
  2. £535 on dance tutor/classes
  3. £367.50 on art
  4. £350 on cricket
  5. £40 on Gaelic

The school have children really enjoyed these activities.  Thank you for your kind donations.

We hope you continue to help the PTFA to support our primary school.
